Children’s Care Homes – Covid-19 testing and visits
| On 2 March and in line with the Welsh Government Coronavirus control plan: Alert levels in Wales for Social Care Services for Adults and Children, published on 23 December, a letter and guidance issued to children’s care homes about the social care Covid-19 testing programme being extended to children’s care homes.

Covid-19 vaccines for unpaid carers eligible under priority group 6 | Unpaid carers who are not already registered as an unpaid carer with their GP are able to fill in an online self-referral form (available from Monday 8 March). When the form has been processed they will be invited for vaccination, they do not need to also contact their health board or GP. Guidance defines eligible unpaid carers as those who are the sole or primary carer of someone who is clinically vulnerable. | |
Aspiring Leaders Programme | Applications to The Queen’s Nursing Institute Aspiring Leaders Programme are now open to all nurses working in the community and social care. The programme is designed to support the professional development of nurses to become future leaders, to the benefit of the people, families and communities they serve. REMINDER: Getting through together | We would like to invite you to our new online peer support network. This network is aimed at anyone working in care who has experienced grief, bereavement or loss at work during the pandemic. If you need space to talk, you can connect with others who have had similar experiences, in a confidential space.
We will meet up once a month for an hour on Zoom. The first sessions are on 18th and 25th March.
